Well, looking back, quite a lot. I’ll spare you the full blow by blow account, which you can see on my LinkedIn profile. Instead here’s a brief summary of the last few decades.

Business journalism and media training for long-standing clients, but looking for new opportunities. As you’ll see from what follows, I’m nothing if not adaptable.

Business and economic journalism with frequent visits to the Arabian Gulf for Oxford Business Group. I have written more than half a million words on a variety of sectors and have spent time in all six GCC countries as well as Egypt and Ghana.

Media training and simulation for Crown Media working with defence and government clients in the UK, Europe, Oman and Georgia.

Education and training including ten years as a Senior Lecturer at Bournemouth University as well as forming my own start-up training company Up To Speed. These experiences gave me extensive experience in public speaking, course design and teaching.

Television News working for the BBC, ITN, GMTV and Sky News. I worked as a researcher, reporter and producer in both regional and national television.

Newspaper and radio reporter taking the traditional apprenticeship route through newspapers and subsequently moving to local radio.

Student journalist writing occasional articles for The Mancunion newspaper while studying Social Anthropology.
